What happens once I reach out?
Once people reach out, I typically begin with a 15-20 minute phone consultation that is free-of-charge to see if we may be a fit. (For couples, this call may be a little longer. I require speaking with both members of a couple, preferably together, before scheduling a first session).
If we progress from the consultation, we will schedule an intake/initial session, during which I will further assess your history, goals, and the best likely treatment for your objectives.
Following the first session, we would discuss impressions as well as short and mid-term plans for your care.
What is the schedule for therapy?
Our first session will be 60 minutes. All subsequent sessions will be 45 minutes. I work with people on a weekly basis for a defined period of time before evaluating progress & next steps. Particularly at the start of therapy, it is important to meet on a regular basis to optimize progress.
Session Fees
The initial session for individual therapy is $350, all individual sessions following are $300/session. The initial session for a couple is $450, all sessions following for the purposes of couples work are $400/session.
How long does therapy take?
The duration of therapy depends on a number of variables. Some people may benefit from a shorter course of treatment (8-12 sessions) for specific problems. It is not uncommon for therapy to be longer in duration to address complex issues or additional concerns. As part of the first few sessions, we will discuss the course and length of treatment depending on area(s) of concern, and we will re-evaluate your needs periodically.
Do you take insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider and do not take any insurance. I do participate in Lyra Health, but have limited availability to provide services through Lyra. I also maintain a limited number of sliding scale slots on a case-by-case basis. I do provide an invoice for out-of-network reimbursement. During our initial call we can discuss this process further and clarify any questions you may have.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel an appointment (if we meet Monday or Tuesday, letting me know the Friday before is best). If you do not attend an appointment and adequate notice is not given, you are responsible to pay the full session cost. I will do my best to reschedule session times, but cannot guarantee alternate availability from week-to-week.
